AI ALUMNI VIDEO STORIES: WONDERFLOW’S ROCKSTART JOURNEY
Although we’ve just opened applications for our inaugural AI acceleration program in Den Bosch, Rockstart has quite a bit of experience in the field. Since 2012, we’ve had a few graduates working with artificial intelligence and machine learning across very different industries, applying the innovative approaches and automating key business processes. In a series of blog posts, we’re telling more about the journeys and experiences of our AI graduates.

In this second post of our alumni stories series, we had a chat with Riccardo Osti, founder of our 2014 Web & Mobile graduate Wonderflow. The startup helps top brands understand what customers really think about their products in order to drive consumer-based innovation. They collect and analyze consumer reviews from major online shops and customer support channels and publish the results in an online dashboard. Take a look at Wonderflow’s journey below.
WHERE DID WONDERFLOW START?
“We started in a small town in Northern Italy, in the Alps, and then soon after we applied for Rockstart. We went through Rockstart’s batch from 2014 Web & Mobile, and everything started there.”
WHAT DID YOU LEARN FROM ROCKSTART?
“The experience at Rockstart—I think it’s a fantastic experience if you look at it from different perspectives, it really brings a lot of different values.”
“When you move to another city, the first thing that you ask yourself is ‘do I know anyone there?’ Or, ‘how am I going to build up my relationships with my network there?’ And if you move to Rockstart, first thing is: network.”
“The most valuable thing that mentors or other alumni taught me when I was at Rockstart is to find your customers first.”
“At Rockstart the focus is entirely on identifying those essential features that are necessary for your product to be bought by someone.”
WILL WONDERFLOW IMPLEMENT AI TECHNOLOGY?
“We really understand the value of Artificial Intelligence, and especially the part related to the neural networks, and the capability—let’s say deep-learning—the capability of the algorithm to learn by himself, like the human brain.”
“Artificial Intelligence can definitely be the future for Wonderflow. Our goal from the very beginning was always to deliver good results from day one.”
“So what we’ve done, we’ve started a process that at the beginning includes humans, includes analysts, reality-based technologies, but progressively we want to move to fully-automatic solution.”
