Postcron is first Rockstart startup to be acquired
In 2012, Postcron was one of the first 10 startups to graduate from our Accelerator Web & Mobile and the first Rockstart startup to receive funding. Now Rockstart is proud to announce that they have accomplished another premiere: Postcron is Rockstart’s very first startup to be acquired. The online-tool for scheduling messages across Social Media channels has been acquired by SocialTools.Me.
A convenient and quick way to get your voice heard on social media, without sacrificing the whole day publishing messages. That is the big idea behind Postcron. The platform that was once envisioned to make life easier for its creator Alejandro Rigatuso – who owned a small laptop shop in Argentina and offered to manage the Facebook pages for some of his clients – has grown into a business that has already processed over 162 million posts.
After a very successful run in the Rockstart Accelerator, being funded only 2 months into the program and getting clients such as Nike, Sony or L’Oreal on board, it was clear that the Postcron team had a winner on their hand. SocialTools.Me has realized this as well and has now acquired Postcron to enhance their range of social marketing tools to create, manage and measure their presence on Facebook. Don Ritzen, managing director at Rockstart, is excited:
“We’re proud and excited about the big news for Postcron and of course also for Rockstart. Alejandro is one of the most talented and driven founders that we’ve had the pleasure to work with and we’re certain he’ll continue to work on exciting new ventures.”
Thanks to the added resources the acquisition brings along, the Postcron team will be able to develop new features for their users. Alejandro Rigatuso will stay at Postcron as a consultant and is excited about the new possibilities: “SocialTools.Me has a more comprehensive set of Social Media apps, and we believe there’s a perfect synergy between the two companies. Our motto will remain the same: We are here to make your life easier; to save time and energy in your social media tasks. Simplicity and usability will always be the basic foundation of our work.”
Congratulations to the whole team!
