Rockstart Alumnus SyndicatePlus Raises €1.2M in Funding
Rockstart Accelerator alumnus SyndicatePlus just announced it has raised €1.2M in a funding round lead by Walvis Participaties, a Dutch venture fund for dynamic and ambitious Internet startups, with the participation of various angels including John Fentener van Vlissingen.
SyndicatePlus is a B2B product management platform that helps manufactures to distribute the right product information and brings fresh insights, based on real-time analytics, about the way consumers interact with products online. Publishers (websites, apps, e-commerce…) have a free access to the SyndicatePlus product database through its API. In two years the startup gathered full details including images of over 250.000 products.

SyndicatePlus was founded in 2010 by Pieter van Herpen who noticed the lack of transparency in the Food & Beverages industry. The startup raised $150k in seed funding in February 2012 and $300k in March 2012, and then became a part of 2013 class of Rockstart Web & Mobile Accelerator program. The relevance of the product data management service greatly increased with the recent EU legislation around food information to consumers which obliges retailers to offer full information about the products they sell online and offline. SyndicatePlus can provide help for manufacturers operating in complex retailing environment as well as for smaller businesses like web shops or apps.
Pieter van Herpen says that the money raised will be invested into team development and improvements in the areas of data exchange and communication between suppliers and web retailers. He comments: “Now we can really start building the team and thus the product.”
