Rockstart and Boehringer Ingelheim strengthen European digital health ecosystem. Together.
Starting new friendships and partnerships is always a pleasure—and today is one of those days. We’re happy to announce a new ecosystem partnership with Boehringer Ingelheim, which will provide extra support to Rockstart’s digital health portfolio startups. As a global, family-owned pharmaceutical company they’ll help testing the products with patients and customers, as well as setting up innovation partnerships.

While finding ecosystem partners is easy, partnering with the right ones is hard. Rockstart’s ecosystem partners are all pioneers in their respective fields. Over the recent years, Rockstart has been forming ecosystem partnerships with health providers, government, health corporates, and more to help about 30 digital health startups in its portfolio.
“It’s difficult for digital health startups to get traction without the help of health partners,” says Casper Smeets, Ecosystem Director Digital Health at Rockstart. “That’s why we’re fully focused on strengthening our health partner ecosystem with health pioneers. That already included partnerships with our founding partner Radboudumc and health pioneers like the Ministry of Health, Pluryn, SIZA, IKONE, STZ, In4Care, Sint Maartenskliniek and Health Valley.
Through our partners, our startups get a combined access to more than 100.000 health professionals and patients in The Netherlands and Belgium. Boehringer Ingelheim is a perfect addition to our ecosystem. Our startups benefit directly from their global reach, scientific and business expertise. We’ve seen their passion for startups and exponential technologies, like artificial intelligence and blockchain. Therefore it’s the perfect time to start making business and health impact, together.”
