After graduating from the Technical University in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, I started my career as Business Developer at a small start up. After 3 years I joined Philips Electronics NV in Marketing and Sales management. Interrupted by 5 years as an Area Director of the Netherlands Foreign Development Agency in San Francisco I continued my career at Philips as CEO of the Corporate Venturing unit. We invested in about 45 companies located in the US, Europe and Israel, managed and exited these holdings profitably (e.g. CSR, Tivo, Magic4) and I became involved in the highly successful divestment of Philips’ semiconductor NXP. Since 2007 I am a managing director and CEO at SET Ventures investing primarily in smart energy solutions.
